Strategic Forum India 2020 (Exclusive event for SIBC and ISBLRT members and partners)
The Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI) and Sweden India Business Council (SIBC) are delighted to invite you to the second edition of Strategic Forum India. The forum is held digitally and constitutes an opportunity to discuss the global economy, polarity, and politics after the coronavirus outbreak.
Across the world, the coronavirus tests political decision-making and commitment to economic integration. National responses to the spread of Covid-19 have varied from gradual closure to sudden lockdown. Borders have been closed. Transport, services and production have come to a halt. Global value chains have been cut, and exports on goods restricted.
Both Europe and India are affected by these restrictions. Policymakers are pressed to come up with pragmatic and innovative measures to restart their economies. Both regions will also have to assess how well their own political systems and decision-making processes respond to emergencies of this magnitude. Last but not least, they will have to work together with the rest of the international community to deal with the crisis and its aftermath.
