Sustainability and Employee Engagement

A company seeking to further their green journey in a sustainable and inclusive way needs to integrate the values and engagement for green transition throughout the organisation. This journey extends beyond the factory floor to distribution channels, suppliers, customers, family and in the extended community. In this session we will hear from industry leaders about their actions in engaging employees, so that they become the Agents of Change!

We are very honoured to have H.E. Tanmaya Lal, Ambassador of India to Sweden open the Sustainability Dialogues 2022.

Join to:

  • Understand the vision and objectives each company has to engage with sustainability
  • Hear about how objective setting has been adapted and fit to context, especially in light of COVID
  • Discuss and share best practices with case studies
  • Understand what we can expect to see in the future and how we can be Agents of Change

BACKGROUND

The industry focus on sustainability has been ongoing for some time and focus on the realisation of Agenda 2030 is increasing. This fueled by an urgency to address climate change issues and the escalating global disparity. Inclusive and equitable growth include both business, environment and people. Sustainability is also high on the Swedish Indian bilateral agenda from government to government, to industry and academia.

The need for collective action with a focus on green energy and energy efficient industrial processes is one of the main push factors for companies today on their growth journey.

Sustainability and Innovation are cornerstones of the Sweden India partnership. The Joint Action Plan signed during Prime Minister Modi's visit to Sweden in 2018 is the key platform for a wide collaboration. Several initiatives and research projects covering energy, water, emissions control and clean air are ongoing.

The discussions today on sustainability have an enlarged focus, not only on the company or industry in question but also the larger impact on the external environment. How to do this requires innovation, involvement and long-term commitment. Each sector faces different challenges to move forward.

Sharing best practices and case studies will go a long way in creating the confidence required to make necessary shifts. It will also provide required inputs to policy makers and other decision makers about the specific support required to facilitate change.
