Questions of mobility, clean energy solutions, capacity and storage have been central to the work she has been undertaking. Arati is the head of the Secretariat for the Sweden-India, Transport, Innovation and Safety Partnership (SITIS), a strong triple-helix collaboration of industry, academia and government agencies. Arati started working with environment and natural resources in 2000, in the US, and she has had over 15 years experience of working with sustainable development in the Sweden – India context; working first with Sida’s energy portfolio, and subsequently with the Embassy of Sweden, New Delhi’s Environment Office. She has worked intensely with e-mobility within the Sweden India corridor and is the author of the report "Electromobility and India, Opportunities for Engagement" Arati is also the India Country Manager of Recap and sits on the board of URBS (Urban Systems) and Pratham Sweden. Arati holds a MSc. in Natural Resource Management from SOAS, University of London and a B.A. in International Political Economy from Swarthmore College, PA, USA and the London School of Economics.

Prior to his current role he was the Chief Technology Officer for ABB in India. Akilur began his career in 1989 with ABB as Senior Engineer - System Engineering, Product Dev. and Application and worked his way up the ladder with his sharp acumen, knowledge of power technologies and project management skills. In 2019, he won the title of the 51st Most Impactful Smart Cities Leaders by the World Corporate Social Responsibility Congress. An active technology thought leadership speaker at various professional body events including India Smart Grid Foundation, CII, IEEE, CIGRE and IEEMA, he has addressed several national and international forums on power and automation, technologies, digitalization and analytics. He has also been a secondee for World Economic Forum’s Fourth Industrial Revolution Center in India. He has presented and published several articles on the future of power and automation technologies. Akilur has a master’s in technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and is certified in general management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
