These will be organized in Stockholm, Hillerstorp (3 June) and Gothenburg during the year.

The session is specifically curated for financial investors as well as corporate investors, including companies considering setting up manufacturing operations in India.

To ensure a high-quality and interactive discussion, participation is limited to a select number of seats.

Why India

India is currently one of the most attractive emerging markets for investment, driven by a combination of strong economic fundamentals, favorable demographics, and strategic policy reforms. Swedish Industry is increasingly looking towards India for growth, R&D, talent and more, as a preferred destination. It is not without challenges, which we will try to unfold at this roundtable discussion. It also presents opportunities given the geopolitical turmoil we all find ourselves in.

DISCUSSION POINTS

Ease of doing Business in India

From a welcoming regime for foreign investment, to an independent central bank, to a robust legal system for enforcing contractual terms, to a taxation system favouring corporates, to vibrant capital markets, there is a lot to like about the framework. Even more important are the positive demographic trends, growth rates and rising rates of consumption.

Complete tax exemption for pension funds and sovereign wealth funds investing in infrastructure

For pension funds and sovereign wealth funds, till march 2030, there is a complete exemption from tax for income in the nature of dividend, interest, long-term capital gains arising out of investments in enterprises which are involved in infrastructure space, funds invested in infrastructure, infrastructure finance companies, infrastructure debt-funds, and listed InvITs.

Focus on Technology, Renewables and Maritime

We will give an overview of the incentives the government (both federal and state) is offering in each sector, as well as the outlook and the relevant legal regime. All of these are high growth sectors in need of capital and technology.

We will explore opportunities shaped by government incentives, regulatory frameworks, and rising demand for international partnerships.
